You may recognize this guy from previous photo shoots. This is GRANT and he’s rockin’ the hair & vocals. This is just one of my favorite shots from the show last Saturday. Shot at the blistering ISO of 6400 to get the real gritty feel of the concert, and to allow for more over exposed feel to the photos without dipping too low in shutter speed. I am very happy with these results!

Be sure to see MANY more photos of this show here:

Have you ever felt like you were in the wrong place? no trespassing… do not enter… go away… beware of dogs…

are you lost? what is your passion? why are you here? where do you want to be? what is the direction in your life? who has inspired you? who has discouraged you? who are you?

Sometimes questions popup into my head to help me make decisions. I don’t choose to have these questions come up, but these and many more are just questions that have inspired me to progress as an artist.

I haven’t had too much success, or as people have made me feel i haven’t been successful. But, once I look at it, I have had over 500 unique visitors to my web site in the last month, over 250,000 total visits to my photographs on Flickr (and average 500-1000 in one day), and over 700 fans on Facebook. How is that not success? So what if i haven’t made much money with my camera, I am sure I have impacted plenty of lives, and that’s all that matters to me.

It’s not about the money, it’s about the lives that are changed.

PS: apparently, i don’t like capital letters when i am thinking…

…just get out there and shoot!

Something that I struggle with everyday, coming up with a reason to use my camera. Some days I am perfectly okay with sitting around and just watching TV or movies. But, looking back on the wasted time, I realize that I should have been out and about doing something with my camera, or creating something. I often times fall into the trap of consumerism. It’s so tempting to soak in. There are bigger oceans to swim in than my little pond at home.

Not that hanging out with friends is a bad thing. By all means, I absolutely love spending time with my friends, and I am trying to learn to balance my life between my full time job, photography, and my friends. It’s an interesting balance. But, when I am alone, I feel that I shouldn’t just sit around waiting and soaking it all in. I should be the sponge squeezing out into the lives around me and expressing my feelings and joys for this world and my life. I have so much to share, and so much to give!

So. I encourage you (and myself) to step out side of our little ponds, and find bigger oceans where we can swim, and be free!

I wouldn’t really consider myself a car person, or a auto photographer. You may think otherwise by the amount of photographs that I upload involving my car. I’d like to be able to say that it is because I don’t have a full time model (aka: girlfriend) to practice shot on. But, really, my inspiration for these shots is a show that I have been watching for the last few years called “TOP GEAR” which airs on BBC television.

The show is an absolute thrilling show, with comedy mixed in with million dollar sports cars, and absolutely AMAZING cinematography. Each episode that I watch of the show just gives me new ideas and thoughts for my own photography. I would consider this as just a hobby. But, I can honestly say that I absolutely love my car, and sine I have always wanted a black car since I knew what a car was when i was 2 years old, this car is my baby.

Whoa.

Sorry, maybe that was TMI!

Having a location to be comfortable and creative is a very important asset as a visual artist. I am sitting at a computer most of my day, and when I am not at a computer, I am visualizing on what my next move will be creatively and artistically. After watching the new movie, “The Book of Eli,” I became inspired to update my workspace.

Added some “purple” lights to add creativity to my workspace. Although, you are right, these are most definitely “pink.” These are an addition to the blue “party bulb” that I had before. The vibe of the area is so much more comfortable, and I am looking forward to spending many more hours at the desk now. It is a work in progress.

The Pink/Purple lights are from Wal-Mart, but manufactured by Mood-Lites to “brighten your world.” The purple’s purpose is to promote creativity. I was a little surprised when the purple became more of a pink, and it’s a bold statement to have pink in my workspace. But, I am confident that this will add a unique touch to a dull boring workspace.
